Booster Club Scholarships 

 


The HHS Athletic Booster Club Scholarship was established to honor Dan Cavanaugh, longtime former Head Football Coach at HHS, and Rose Bihun, Athletic Office Secretary.   
Four $1000.00 scholarships will be awarded to (2) senior male and (2) senior female athletes this year.   The scholarships will be awarded for the pursuit of higher education and are in recognition of athletic participation, team contributions, while becoming active citizens in society through their community involvement,​
and volunteering or employment experiences. 
Application forms are available in student services or on this HHS Booster Club page. 

The Hampshire High School Athletic Booster Club began the Senior Athletic Scholarship Fund in November 2004. Scholarships are awarded each school year to two female and two male senior student athletes in the amount of $1000.00 each. The scholarship winners are chosen by the Jacobs High School Athletic Booster Club, and we in turn, choose their scholarship winners.

Requirements to apply for the scholarship:  
1. Applicants must be a senior and have played at least one varsity sport and plan to attend an accredited college, community college, trade or technical school in the fall.  
2. Applicants must fill out the scholarship application and turn on on time.  
3. Applicants applying for the scholarship must write an essay explaining how their participation in sports has influenced their life and helped them become the person they are today.
4. Applicants must attach one letter of recommendation from a coach.  
5. Applicants must have an unweighted GPA that meets IHSA minimum requirements. They must also have a guidance counselor sign their application to verify this requirement has been met. Applications not meeting the above-mentioned requirements will not be eligible for the scholarship awards.
6. It is preferred but not required for the applicant's parents to be current and active members of the HHS Booster Club. It's not too late to join.
